Miss Barlow's Weekly Words Summer 9

Moving on up! This week the girls spent Thursday morning in their new classes...

... and Year 6 joined the New Girls Evening on Wednesday in preparation for Senior Girls!

It is times such as this during the year which make me reflect on the year that has been. Planning for next year has already begun but it is important to make sure time is given to look back on the achievements and the 'Even Better Ifs..', and build on these next year. It is an exciting time but tinged with a little sadness as we prepare to say goodbye to staff and pupils.

It is with this tinge of sadness we say goodbye to two long-standing members of staff. Firstly, to Madame Laura Flores. Madame has taught at Claires Court for 16 years. We will miss Laura and thank her so very much for all of her work in leading the teaching of modern foreign languages to the girls. We wish her all the best as she is continues to teach at another school.

And lastly but absolutely not least, to Mrs Claire Wardman. Claire has taught at Claires Court for 12 years. For many years leading the teaching in Year 1, and more recently offering cover teaching in all classes and supporting the Year 6 Class. Claire has led our Art curriculum and with this many art competitions and exhibitions. Our very popular Strawberry Cafe was introduced by Claire, who has led the event every year.  Claire leaves us to become a Year 3 Class Teacher at St Bernard's and we wish her all the very best in her new role. We will miss you very much, Claire.

I would like to end my words this week by saying a huge thank you for two fantastic parents' evenings this week. We have all enjoyed discussing your daughter's learning and achievements. In fact, the teachers were quite emotional at the end when they realised it was their last parents evening with their class!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing you at the Summer Fete tomorrow.
