Mrs Kirby's Weekly Words Autumn 1

Welcome back to the new academic year! We are so excited to welcome everyone (old and new) back to Claires Court...
After lots of preparation and planning, our first day back has been a wonderful mix of excitement, some nerves (and that's just the teachers!) and anticipation! It was a joy to watch our youngest members skip in to Claires Court this morning for their first ever day at school! Our new Reception Class have impressed us all with their lining up and they even managed to join us all in assembly.
During assembly (after we got over the new surname thing!), we talked about all of the things that makes Claires Court special. Many of the girls said: "my friends" "teamwork" "teachers" and "helping each other". And they are right! What makes this school so special is the people who make up the Claires Court community, but it is the pupils who are at the core of our school - without them, we wouldn't be a school! We talked about working hard and learning from mistakes but ended with the most important message of all - "In a world where you can be anything, be kind." This video clip captures this incredibly well.
I am incredibly proud of all of the girls and how they have approached their first day of school and I look forward to catching up with all of you over the coming days. I am incredibly excited for the year to come and all of the new and exciting opportunities yet to happen!
A special welcome must go to our new members of staff. Mrs Ericson who has joined us to work in Year 5 and Year 1as a Teaching Assistant, and Miss Pearce who joins us as a GAP assistant. Following Mrs Louise Thomas' departure, we are delighted to welcome Miss Kujawa in October. Miss Kujawa will work as a Teaching Assistant in Year 3 and Mrs Prescott who we had planned to work in Year 3, will now be supporting the Year 1 class.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Leanne Kirby
