Mrs Kirby's Weekly Words Autumn 2
First full week complete! (Photo credit to Year 4 who have written letters to their future selves!)
We have now completed our first full week of term and business is definitely as usual. Routines have been established and already we have had two successful Curriculum Meetings; completed auditions for our Christmas Production (the girls will be performing Mary Poppins and Mrs Stevenson wants to get ahead of the game!); and the girls are immersed in their topics for the Autumn Term.
Alongside our continuing school aims, we have many new focus points for this year. One key area of focus is Pupil Voice. Pupil Voice is not just 'school council' meetings. The Pupil Voice movement wants schools to understand that listening to their pupils is a way schools can make significant progress and development across all areas of school life. Pupil Voice is an engine recognised by the school and powered by the pupils. For the past few years, Miss Pelizzari and Miss Mansfield have been working on different projects and have also combined forces with representatives from Junior Boys. We have many exciting opportunities planned for this year so keep your eyes peeled!
Also this year, we will be celebrating BIG ME - a week which celebrates aspiration and who or what the girls aspire to be when they grow up (WARNING: there might be some costumes involved!) This exciting celebration links so well to our ethos of learning from mistakes, thinking big and always reaching for the stars.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
Leanne Kirby
