Mrs Kirby's Weekly Words Autumn 7

Half a term has passed...
... and wow did it fly by?!
This week, Year 6 have been enjoying the beautiful Osmington Bay; learning about the river, enjoying outward bound activities and rock pooling! Although Wednesday was a little wet (!), they have thoroughly enjoyed themselves and learned lots. On Friday, we were treated to a presentation of all of the things the girls and boys learned through a variety of media. When year groups travel on trips such as these, it makes me realise how lucky we are that we have pupils that make planning and facilitating these trips so easy; we are proud to take Claires Court pupils away because of their behaviour, learning attitude and enthusiasm.
Also this week...
Reception welcomed the boys classes from Junior Boys for their annual Hallowe'en party. The costumes were just brilliant as were the games and decorations courtesy of Mrs James and Mrs St John.
Year 4 visited Hampton Court and, as well as learning all about the royal historic house, who built it and how Henry VIII lived there, got lost in the maze and visited the haunted grand hall!
On Tuesday, our Young Leaders led an assembly on Mental Health. They taught us that we are all different, but that it is that difference which makes our school a better place. The girls talked about how important it is to talk to someone if you are feeling sad.
I cannot believe that the first half term is over. We have achieved so much and we are looking forward to so much more fun and learning after the two week break.
Thank you for all of your continued support.
I hope you all have an enjoyable half term.
