Mrs Kirby's Weekly Words Autumn 13

With Christmas just around the corner...
...we are well and truly into the Christmas season and full of Christmas spirit. Miss Pridham and Mrs McKee have become more and more Christmassy over the week, culminating in full on Christmas gear on Friday! The Elf shoes have been jingling all around Upper Juniors for the past few days.
The girls enjoyed the Pantomime on Wednesday. They travelled to The Theatre Royal in Windsor to watch Dick Whittington and had a wonderful time, despite the cheesy jokes...!
Tuesday saw our youngest members (Nursery and Lower Juniors) perform their Christmas productions. For Lower Juniors, this was their third production and they did not disappoint. Thank you to Victoria in Year 6 who stepped in to learn the role of the cat at such short notice. She did amazing job, especially given she had performed in Mary Poppins as Robertson Aye the week before!
During this busiest of times, I am always so proud of how much the pupils continue to achieve. They are still able to achieve in their lessons, fulfil their roles of responsibility, help in the community and showcase talents in front of huge audiences. For example, our Year 6s still had enough energy, following their lead roles in Mary Poppins last week, to walk down to Normanhurst Nursing Home with their little girls in Reception to sing carols to the residents.
And the Christmas celebrations do not end there...! Today we had a visit from a very special visitor. We sang songs and gifts were exchanged. Thank you to the PTA Elves who help make this happen.
Next week, we look forward to to Carol Services at All Saints Church. This is the first year of splitting Years 3 & 4 and Years 5 & 6, but enjoying this special service twice is something to very much look forward to.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
