Claires Court Maidenhead

from Nursery to Sixth Form

Mrs Kirby's Weekly Words Lent 6

Keep dancing...

Wow! Wow! Wow! Our Dance Show was an amazing spectacle of talent, creativity, collaboration and, let’s be honest, a lot of hard work! It was absolutely incredible to see so many of our pupils (all of them in fact) performing to such a high standard. Each performance was individual and full of passion. It is events such as this, that make me realise just how special Claires Court is. The relationships between pupils and between pupils and staff are unique and vital to be able to put on a performance of this scale. I am in awe of the pupils and staff that worked so hard to make this such an amazing event - well done to everyone!

But... we haven’t just been rehearsing for the Dance Show. This week our cross country team performed exceptionally well in the regional competition with our U10 team (some U9’s included!) won the overall event for their age category. Josie and Phoebe are off to represent London West at the National event in March. First netball now cross country; it’s been a busy two weeks for our sporting competitors!

Today, we support The Gambia Project by wearing ‘mufti’. We are all wearing the colours of the Gambian Flag to raise money for the Project which some of our Sixth Formers are supporting hands-on when they travel there later this year.

Ooops…

Last week I forgot to wish a fond farewell (temporarily!) to Miss Hurter who has travelled to South Africa for her wedding which takes place next week. We wish her all the best and look forward to welcoming her back as Mrs Cooper after half term.

I cannot quite believe we are halfway through the year! So much has been achieved and we still have so much to look forward to. After half term, we have Charity Week to look forward to as well as Science Week which will include some very exciting scientific experiments and investigations… more to follow!

I hope you all have a wonderful Half Term break and I look forward to seeing you in just over a week’s time. Thank you for your continued support in helping making Claires Court the school it is.
