from Nursery to Sixth Form

Mrs Kirby's Weekly Words Summer 8

Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened...

This week has been full of endings and beginnings. On Tuesday and Thursday this week, we had our last parents’ evenings of the year, rounding up the academic year and all that your daughters have achieved. Thank you all for your support.

On Wednesday, Year 6 had ‘New Girls’ Evening’, where they enjoyed getting to know their new Year 7 cohort. And on Thursday morning, each class moved up to their new class for September and met their new teachers. On this day, we also welcomed our new pupils to Claires Court. Both events were incredibly successful and I was so proud of how supportive and kind each girl was.

During assembly this morning, we were inspired by our signing group. They sang two songs and taught us a little about what it must be like to live in a world where no one speaks your language. The girls were incredible! (The video can be seen here).

Next week, we look forward to Sports Day (I think it is going to be a scorcher!) and the rest of our 'Moving Up information Meetings for Parents'. The choir are off to St Luke’s Music Festival on Friday and Reception will be enjoying a Teddy Bear’s picnic on Thursday with Junior Boys.

We only have 3 weeks left of this academic year but there is still so much to look forward to. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I hope to see you at the Summer Fete and Circus on Sunday.
