Mrs Kirby's Weekly Words Summer 9

What a week!
This week hosted our annual Sports Day. Sports Day at Claires Court is, yes, a chance for pupils to exercise their talents and skills in a range of disciplines but it also a very important opportunity to come together as one school to support and encourage each other; and this year was no different. Wednesday afternoon was full of pupils encouraging each other, staff encouraging pupils and everyone coming together to create a warm and caring environment in which pupils can thrive and take risks. Many pupils took part in events for their team, their house. Everyone tried their best, never gave up and reached for success. It was a privilege to stand back and watch these exceptional girls work so hard and show incredible kindness; that’s what Claires Court is all about. Special thanks must go to Miss Hudson for her impeccable organisation and ‘slickness’! This event gets better every year!
We now only have two weeks left until the end of academic year which means only one week left until Prize Giving. I am pleased to announce that our speaker this year is Bronwyn Seier who is the Social Media Manager from Fashion Revolution; a company on a mission to unite people and organisations to work together towards radically changing the way our clothes are sourced, produced and consumed, so that our clothing is made in a safe, clean and fair way. We are very much looking forward to meeting Bronwyn and sharing our Clothes Swap (held today) enterprise, initiated by Mrs Carter and Year 6.
I hope you all have a wonderful (and not too hot!) weekend.
