Mrs Kirby's Weekly Words Summer 10

What a week… what a year!
First of all, this week has seen many events and achievements take place. It was time for the Lower Junior Swimming Gala on Tuesday. The girls have been working so hard all year and the gala was a special celebration of just how much progress they have made and just what talent they have, Many girls achieved great things including medals and wins but fears were also overcome… and it was the first time we have had all of Reception swim in the deep end during a swimming gala!

We were able to celebrate the achievements from the swimming gala as well as other sports from across the year in our Sports Assembly on Thursday. Many girls achieved their half and full colours and the Victrix Ludorum was handed out to a pupil in each year group for the Swimming Gala and Sports Day. Well done to:
Cora, Willow, Alice, Evie, Phoebe, Isabella & Daniella, and Rhiannon (Swimming Gala)
Cora, Phoebe, Evie, Phoebe, Charlene, Mia (Sports Day)
On Thursday afternoon, the Choir sang their hearts out for the 'Music on the Lawn' event at Junior Boys. It was a wonderful collaboration filled with talented singing and such beautiful sounds; it really was a lovely way to spend an afternoon.
As we enter our final week of the year, it is time to reflect on all the things that have been achieved and the opportunities of which the girls have taken full advantage. It is also a time to think “Where has the year gone?!”. It really has been another successful year and when I think back I have fond memories of much fun, enjoyment and a whole lot of achievement and I am so looking forward to sharing many of our highlights of the year at Prize Giving next week, and also celebrating Year 6’s time with us during their Leavers’ Assembly on Friday.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
