And just like that, summer has gone and we are back to school!
Yesterday was a wonderfully smooth day full of intrigue and excitement (with perhaps a few nerves - not just felt by the pupils!). It was lovely to welcome you all back to Claires Court and say hello to our new pupils, including our Reception Class who happily skipped into class full of eagerness!
We had our first assembly of the school year in the freshly painted Chapel, where we talked about the exciting things that the girls have been doing over the holidays. Many spoke of the places they have visited, the activities they have participated in and even the holiday diaries they have written. We discussed how we might be feeling on our first day in a new class or a new school and it was lovely to hear how happy the girls are to be back at school. All of the teachers have been in school for the last few days making sure that everything is bright and cheerful, ready for the new term and I’m sure the girls will echo my sentiments as both the Lower and Upper Junior corridors look fantastic!
We also welcome a few new members of staff to our team; Mrs Tewari (Year 2 Class Teacher), Miss Dockerill (Year 4 Class Teacher), Miss Joslyn (PE Assistant) and Miss Samios (Cover Teacher and Extended Care Leader).
Next Friday we look forward to the Sports BBQ at Junior Boys. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet our staff and other parents - I hope to see you there.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Mrs Kirby
