from Nursery to Sixth Form

Mrs King's Words Lent 2

It certainly has been a busy first full week back with trips, trips and more trips! We do love a trip here at Juniors Girls and we know that we are very lucky to be able to offer the girls so many chances to extend their learning in class with new opportunities outside of the classroom. Educational trips provide pupils with unique opportunities to experience learning in a range of different ways and offer enrichment to the fantastic activities that are already on offer in the classroom.

On Tuesday Year 6 visited The Living Rainforest. The girls had a wonderful day and had many exciting stories to tell but the highlight of the day was undoubtedly getting to meet Cinnamon the sloth! A fantastic introduction to their Amazon adventures topic this term!

In Year 1 this week they got in their classroom tardis and travelled back to the time of the dinosaurs where they have started their topic for the term. They also had the exciting and potentially terrifying visit to Juniors Boys where they came face to face with a huge T-Rex! They had a wonderful morning finding out about one of the largest meat-eating dinosaurs that ever lived. Miss Sadler was very careful to carry out a thorough head count at the end of the morning and I’m pleased to report that everybody returned to school safely! The T-Rex had a taste of Isabella and sniffed a few other children but he obviously wasn’t feeling hungry, thank goodness! Huge thanks to Junior Boys for hosting the event.

On Thursday Year 3 enjoyed a trip to the Roald Dahl Musuem where they explored full size settings and characters from Roald Dahl’s amazing stories. Also on Thursday Year 4 had a wonderful day in London at The Natural History Museum to kick start their topic, Amazing Earth.

We have had the excitement of another visit from Mrs Kirby today. Everyone was very excited to see how much Mila has grown and it was great for the girls to see Mrs Kirby. Of course she is still missing us but very much enjoying motherhood.

Next week is much quieter in terms of trips but I look forward to seeing many of you at parents evening next week.
