Mr Spanswick's Words Summer 3
Dear Parents and Guardians
It is a big weekend coming up!
Everyone is waiting to see what Boris Johnson says on Sunday evening when he announces his plans for the next set of proposals to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Whatever direction the government chooses, we at Claires Court are ready with strategies to continue distance learning where appropriate and to open the School for our families as soon as we are allowed to do so.
As promised we will send you the outcomes of the internal financial audit from the School Principals, which will now be distributed after Boris’ announcement, on Monday so it can account for any latest news. On the topic of finances, we are refunding parents for the larger residential trips that have had to be cancelled, and we are working towards all aspects of refunding or crediting for trips and transport, including for bus journeys to and from school, in due course.
Thanks to so many of you for taking part in our family questionnaire for parents of children in Year 1 to 13 last week and for sharing your thoughts. I was really pleased to see that even remotely, almost 90% of our parents felt that we are concentrating on the wellbeing of your children very effectively, and although the questionnaire was anonymous, we have hopefully reached out to the families who felt that we could do better in this area through our pastoral care. As always, if you feel there is something we could be doing in a more helpful way, please contact your Divisional Headteacher and we would be happy to take your feedback on board.
I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Mr Richards and Mr Gravett from Senior Girls last week on the Claires Court Isolation Tracks - our version of Desert Island Discs. Having watched it back and finally got over the sense of embarrassment, it is now available to see on the school’s Facebook page, along with Mrs Ruddick’s and Mr Wareing’s offerings on music tastes. A bit of fun, some good chat, and lots of good stories from the other two!
I will leave you to the musings of your child's Headteacher. Please enjoy the longer weekend, a bit of sunshine, and hopefully some good news from our Prime Minister.
