Mrs Kirby's Words Week

Remember, remember the fifth of November… I nearly didn’t! So many great things are happening in classrooms that I nearly forgot that it was November fifth yesterday. As well as sparklers, in carrots, in Year 2, firework onomatopoeia and poetry in Year 1, Reception has been learning about light and dark including shadows and nocturnal animals. To help them learn about hedgehogs and hibernation, Miss Dockerill brought in her African pygmy hedgehog, ‘Hedgy’, who remained socially distant and was a hit with the whole school .
In ICT, Year 4 have been designing and creating their own very impressive pixel images.
As with everyone, the reality that we are in our second lockdown is not the best of news, however being at school is such a relief. It’s so refreshing to come in everyday surrounded by these energetic and resilient pupils. Whilst we are not complacent and remain vigilant, having space to learn and be creative is so important for the well-being of all of our pupils.
Thank you so much for all of the wonderful support including your very kind emails.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Mrs Kirby
