Mrs Kirby's Words Week 8

Happy World Kindness Day! Wonderful things have happened this week including, a very kind and warm assembly from Miss Mansfield:
Miss Mansfield showed a beautiful video which can be found here.
We wore red on Wednesday to support Remembrance Day and had a wonderful, poignant service outside whilst Mr Gravett played the Last Post. Miss Sadler produced a very moving Act of Remembrance for the Girls to watch in the morning, reminding us of what the generations before us sacrificed in order for us to live the life we live today.
Year 5 this week have had quite a few exciting things happen. The girls had a brilliant time with Mr Wareing in art. They really enjoyed using colourful ink to create patterns on paper, before using heat torches to dry their designs. The girls then traced a beautiful portrait onto their design and added their own finer details with pens. Thank you Mr Wareing!
The big secret in Year 5 was finally revealed; Anna James, Author of Pages & Co, surprised the class with a live meet! The girls were totally shocked but did manage to overcome their speechless-ness and ask lots of questions.
Our big girls in Year 6 met their little girls in Reception via Google Meet. We hope to do lots of exciting things, socially distanced or virtually, together to build up these special bonds.
I hope you have enjoyed the photos and have a wonderful weekend.
