Head's Words Summer Term Week 11
As we draw nearer to the end of the academic year, every class is still working hard in all of the lessons. The girls performed amazingly in the Summer Soiree on Tuesday and, although I was unfortunately unable to attend, I saw many videos and pictures of the event. Mr Bevis was astounded by the array of musical talent as was I.
Nine girls from Years 5 & 6 travelled to Birmingham on Wednesday to represent London West in the ISA National Athletics competition. The girls achieved 6 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals with 1 National record broken in Long Jump by Riley Hopley who jumped 4.20 meters! In comparison to some schools we are small, making this achievement even more outstanding.
Next week we look forward to the Lower Junior Swimming Gala on Tuesday and, due to our Sports Day being rained off last week, we look forward to the rescheduled event next Thursday 7 July.
In addition to these two big events, the girls will also be participating in our Problem Solving Week. Each Class Teacher will give the pupils opportunities to put their problem solving skills to the test in a variety of different activities. Year 2, 4 and 6 will also be participating in a First Aid session with Mrs Fowke, which we will continue for years to come.
