Mrs Kirby's words Autumn week 7

Welcome back to everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful half term break.

We have come back to a few changes which we are adhering to but still with the pupil’s well-being at the forefront of our minds. We are delighted to still be travelling to Bristol for the Rugby and Netball Tour, visiting National Archives (G2) and Woolley Firs (B2) as well as celebrating Diwali and competing in the National Swimming Finals too.

At Junior Boys, our House Captains will be at the gate and be visiting classes next week with Remembrance poppies to purchase and we look forward to exploring this important topic next week, as well as Year 3’s laying of the wreath at the visit to Stubbings War Memorial. Junior Girls can purchase their poppies from the main office and our House Captains will also visit classes. Remember to send your children in with a little bit of money if they wish to show their support by purchasing a Poppy please.

It was a pleasure to award Cliveden the House Disc for most lengths swum during our swimarathon. Well done to everyone who completed a combined total of just under 1,000 lengths, and thank you for your generous contributions.

We are also delighted that Mrs Stevenson has increased our peripatetic music offer. We are thrilled to be able to add brass (trumpet, trombone etc) and singing lessons, alongside our pre-existing percussion, guitar, piano, violin, and saxophone lessons. Do make contact with us if your child is interested in developing these skills.

Sticking to the theme of music, the Year 4 girls have been very excited to receive their instruments and have their first lessons as part of the Instrumental Project. We look forward to seeing them progress and perform in the future!

It has been a terrifying start to this half term in Year 5 at Junior Girls this week, following on from Halloween weekend the second half of their topic got off to a scary start with Miss Dockerill playing the convincing role of a plague victim! We do like to make sure we bring learning to life!

From sunny Bristol, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
