Mrs Kirby's Words Lent Week 8

This week I have enjoyed many views from my window and whilst walking around. Not many words are needed, when you have a view like mine!
Many things were enjoyed for International Women’s Day at Junior Girls and Junior Boys. In Year 6, each girl received a letter from her Dad or Grandad telling them why they were so inspirational. The girls then researched their Mum’s or Grandmother’s role model, which will later become a Year 6 book. (They also enjoyed a very special breakfast!).
On Wednesday and Thursday Crime Scene Investigation visited Junior Boys and hosted workshops that allowed boys and girls to look at forensically, take risks and enjoy being creative. Year 3 to 6 certainly impressed us all with their inquiry based work.
Later that afternoon Forest School had children collaborating and problem-solving as Year 3 boys and girls used saws and sheath knives to create wooden tent pegs. Focus and concentration was etched into every face and the instructions were followed brilliantly.
On Thursday we wished Year 4 football tourists good luck on their tour to the Bournemouth area. Mixed matches were played at Orchard Junior School and Ballard School. Thank you for their wonderful hospitality. I look forward to hearing all about the trips to Marwell Zoo, Reading Stadium and bowling and laser quest activities next week.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Best wishes
Mrs Kirby
