Healthy Eating Week! Healthy learning all round!
This week has been our annual Healthy Eating Week. From trying new things in the dining room to learning about healthy choices in the classroom, the girls have been completely immersed in healthy eating education. You will see pictures in our gallery from this week including, of Reception making fruit kebabs ; Year 1 tasting new snacks in the dining room; Year 2 making couscous salad and a healthy chocolate cake (recipe please!); Year 3 using their estimating skills to create their own energy ball recipes; Year 4 making delicious smoothies and couscous salad; Year 5 'Guess the Ingredients of the Smoothie' challenge; and Year 6 being very active! As part of Healthy Eating Week, the girls had many opportunities to achieve certificates for trying new things, eating their 5-a-day and being as activate as possible. The pupils also had the opportunity to choose the healthiest lunch on Monday and across the week.
As well as all of these exciting activities throughout the week, Lower Juniors visited Beale Park where they saw leemars and meerkats (!) and enjoyed the splashpool too! On Thursday, we welcomed our new pupils to who will join Claires Court in September to our Moving Up Morning. Everyone had a very enjoyable morning meeting their new friends and teachers, whilst experiencing their new classroom and learning new routines ready for the new academic year. Year 4 also enjoyed Chembakoli Day with the Junior Boys. The pupils tried Indian food, learned what it might be like for a child living in Chembakoli and many other exciting things.
For the past two weeks, Year 6 have welcomed many visitors to their classroom as part of their Careers Week. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our visitors for taking the time to come and inspire the class with your journeys and stories of determination; the girls learned so much! Thank you to:
Charlie Webster, Mrs Sykes, Mr & Mrs Parr, Mr Lawrence, PC Shaunugh Hall, Mrs Helm, Mrs Jesseman, Mr Duncombe and Mrs Dries.
I do hope you all have a lovely weekend.
