Tom Worthington achieved an impressive A* in Psychology, A in Biology and A in Chemistry, securing his place to study Biomedical Science at the University of Exeter. Tom, thrilled with his results, said, “Claires Court has really helped me exceed my expectations since joining in Year 7. The School is so welcoming and whilst giving me the help and support I required, I had a level of independence along the way too.”

Tom Lidstone, who has also been at the School since Year 7, was overwhelmed to see he’d achieved an A* in Maths, A in Physics and A in Economics, confirming his place at Birmingham University to study Engineering. Tom even achieved 100% in one of his A Level Maths papers. Tom commented, “I can’t put into words how much the School has helped me, I’ve grown to be so much more confident in myself and I’m speechless to have received these results.”

Meanwhile, Megan Forster, one of the top ten U18 tennis players in the UK, was delighted to receive two Bs in A Level Psychology and Physical Education. After opening her results envelope, Megan said, “The school have been really supportive, helping me to balance my studies and tennis. I’m so pleased with my results.” Megan has been awarded a 100% scholarship at the University of Colorado to study Sports Management.

Andy Giles, Head of Sixth Form said, “These are a great set of results from a fantastic year group. I am proud of all their achievements which are very much in line with the statistics nationally. We are delighted that the vast majority of our students have secured their chosen university places.”

James Wilding, Academic Principal added, “Both staff and students have worked really hard over the past two years to adjust to the very considerable changes to the A Level examinations process and the very successful results we report today are a fitting tribute to both of their efforts. During their sixth form years, our students follow a much wider programme of enrichment than just these academic outcomes, developing in them a whole range of skills suited for the next steps in their lives, whether that be at university or in employment.”
