Rain Could Not Stop Play...
Or the fun, cooking, tricks, sport, photography.... as it has been an action packed week for the children at Holiday Activities even though there was some of the wettest weather this summer.
The girls and boys continued their travels with a journey across Asia. Their worldwide adventure took them to the home of pagodas and pandas, samurai and secret ninjas! They learnt the traditional Indian game ‘Kho Kho’, developed their origami skills creating frogs and aeroplanes and took the Secret Ninja Challenge!
The Kool Xtra group continued to enjoy Warhammer, with others taking delight in our very own Spa Salon where they made their own spa products and posed in an Indian themed Photo Booth. In the ever popular Cookery sessions, children made some delightfully tasty Asian dishes including spring rolls and samosas.
The circus came to town on Wednesday with all groups having the chance learn new skills like juggling, stilt walking and Diablo. And there was a magical visit for the young ones when a Princess came and entertained them with games and bubbles!
A new addition to Kool Xtra this summer has been the digital media sessions where this week children learnt to be journalists and put together their very own press release about a Holiday Activities day after conducting interviews with children and staff.
For those not travelling with us this week, but taking on a sporting adventure, our Sport Xtra activities gave children the opportunity to hone their skills in a variety of Olympic sports and put them into practise in mini tournaments. Children were wowed each day as the Sports Staff demonstrated some of their own skills including golf, soccer and badminton.
