Storytime Sessions

This week our Upper Junior Girls have been celebrating National Storytelling Week, by listening to the Helen Dennis book ‘The Power of Three’, the first instalment in the ‘Secret Breakers’ series. Helen will be our visiting author on World Book Day, 1 March, and will be speaking to the Year 3 to 6 Junior Girls.

Helen Dennis is a writer of mystery adventures that are fast paced and exciting. It has just been announced that her series 'Secret Breakers' is to be made into a new CBBC series this year. ‘Secret Breakers’ is a six book adventure series that follows a team of young code-crackers and their friends through adventures as they try to solve the mystery of the world’s most mysterious unbroken code.

Paula Copeman, Junior Girls School Librarian, said:

“National Storytelling Week has been the perfect opportunity to introduce Helen’s stories to the girls and we all can’t wait to meet her on World Book Day. Today the Year 5 girls have also been reading to the Year 2 girls which all the pupils really enjoyed.

“It’s been a busy week as the Lower Juniors have been celebrating National Storytelling Week too, by listening to Winnie the Pooh’s new book, ‘The Best Bear in all the World’. This Friday I’m holding our annual Book Swap for all Junior Girls which I’m really looking forward to as it encourages the girls to share great stories and pass on books they enjoyed. Happy reading everyone!”
