Windsor Castle
Upon arrival at Windsor Castle, Year 1 boys experienced royal treatment as they were invited to sit on the courtyard with the Guards.
The boys were able to see arrow slits, murder holes, battlements and a Motte and Bailey castle - all of which they've learned lots about this term. The group then made their way to the State Apartments. They were greeted by Lesley, who was amazed by how well the boys could answer her questions. She allowed them to dress up and act the parts of a jester, a page, a squire and then wear chain mail armour as well as a heavy metal helmet.
After this the group enjoyed a lovely picnic out on the Long Walk under the trees. The boys ended the day by visiting the Chapel that they saw on the TV during Meghan and Harry's wedding. Lots of visitors commented on the fantastic behaviour of the boys and also the staff were amazed with their knowledge of Castles. Year 1 certainly made their teachers very proud!
