Running into the ISA National Cross Country Final
The ISA regional cross country final, hosted at Sherfield School earlier this month, saw Claires Court field 20 runners from Juniors to Seniors, 11 of which qualified for the national final which will take place on Friday 20 March.
Arriving full of anticipation and determination for the challenge ahead, our Junior runners launched off the blocks with Junior Girls Josie, Charlotte and Charlene qualifying for the national final along with Junior Boys Daniel, George, Zac and Leo. Meanwhile, our Senior pupils attacked the course with a similar gusto which saw Izzie, Emily and Nuala qualify for Senior Girls as well as our lone Senior Boy contender William, who reached the next round after being the highest placed Year 7 runner in what was a predominantly a Year 8 race.
Victoria Barrett, Senior Girls PE teacher, commended the pupils: “I am so proud of all the runners for their determination shown throughout the competition and I wish all the pupils competing in the national cross country championship on Friday 20 March the best of luck!”
