Battle of the sexes for charity
Our Sixth Form students embraced the opportunity of fundraising for our annual Charity Week when they took to the netball pitch in a battle of the sexes.
For the charity match our Year 13 students opted to swap kits with the opposite sex, trading football and rugby jerseys for netball and hockey tops whilst our Year 12 students supported from the sidelines running their concessions stand of delicious baked goods.
An intense battle raged on the pitch as the girl’s team showed great skill and footwork. However, the boy’s team enjoyed plenty of possession and managed to score three goals to win the match 3-0.
Stephanie Rogers, Head of Sixth Form, commented on the fundraising efforts: “The real winners of today’s charity match is the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice who will receive over £120 from our students’ endeavours. Our annual Claires Court Charity Week is the perfect opportunity to raise awareness of a number of local, national and international charities.”
