Eating for Victory Competition

On Friday 8 May 2020 we mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day and the Second World War in Europe. Typically VE Day would be an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on this important moment in history and would see us all marking the occasion with our friends, family and neighbours at social gatherings such as street parties. However, this year due to the Covid-19 crisis and the Government’s advice on social distancing, we have to stay at home with our immediate family. However, we can still have fun and mark the occasion together with the VE Day cooking competition.

Mrs Irons is challenging all Claires Court pupils to have a go at cooking some wartime recipes. This could include a picnic, barbeque or special dinner and you could even make bunting to decorate the windows or dress up in red, white and blue! Some suggestions for recipes you could make can be found in the following presentations:

There are also templates provided to make your own bunting or a poster for colouring in. To enter please send a photo with a brief description to kei@clairescourt.net by next Tuesday 12th May.
