With Owen, came a tortoise, geckos, a Royal Python, stick insects, cockroaches and an ‘incy wincy’ tarantula (as named by Owen). The children were split into age groups, and each group took it in turns to engage with the animals. Sat in a semi-circle, the children crossed their arms over their body if they did not want to hold the animal being passed around, or simply put their arms out to hold it. While the animal was gently passed around, with the help of Owen, he explained what each animal ate, where they lived and other interesting facts.
