Back to full school uniform and bringing in PE kit - w/c 8 November
From next week at Senior Boys we will be reverting to wearing school uniform EVERY day with the Claires Court PE kit to be brought in on sports days to change into at the appropriate time. Thank you for your cooperation.
Face Masks
May we please reiterate the message from Justin Spanswick’s email on 29 October on the wearing of face coverings, effective from Monday 1 November:
“Pupils in secondary education will be required to wear a mask in all indoor communal areas in school, unless they are exempt from doing so for medical reasons. Secondary aged pupils are not required to wear masks in classrooms at this point, but they may do so if they wish to.”
May we please ask for your support in reminding your son to bring his face mask to school each day to keep our community safe. We have got through a vast number of reusable face masks this past week, and would like to see this decrease next week. We obviously appreciate there will be days when masks are forgotten and are happy to give them out in such circumstances, but do not want boys asking for masks multiple times a day/week. Can we also please ask any parents coming into school to also wear a face covering. Thank you.
LFT and PCR Testing
Please ensure your son is continuing to Lateral Flow Testing twice weekly and reporting results via the GOV.UK website. This is a key part of reducing transmission of COVID-19 in secondary schools and reducing case rates across the school. Please remember LFTs are for asymptomatic testing only, so if your son is displaying any of three main covid symptoms (temperature, cough or loss of smell), they must take a PCR test and should not come into school until you have received the results. Please inform the school of PCR test results once received. Thank you.
Catering - w/c 8 November and until further notice
Please note that the dining room will no longer be serving food before school or during break time until further notice. Furthermore lunch is reverting to the covid offering of ‘take away’ style lunches and all school lunches now need to be booked in advance via the Report Portal, by Wednesday of the preceding week. Food can be booked on a daily basis at a cost of £2.70, or for a full weekly charge of £12.50. Further instructions on lunch bookings can be found on page 12 of this help document. The four options of hot/cold main/veg can be viewed on the menus but may change without notice due to the supply chain issues. Unfortunately, there will be no sandwiches available at the current time, but we are reviewing this on an ongoing basis, and as soon as it is safe to bring back our full offer we will do so.
