House Matches - Tuesday 14 December
Parents are invited to come and watch Year 4 House Matches, all of these will kick off at 2.30pm.
Chess has been impacted by Covid once again this term, including the cancellation of our National Qualifier and several other tournaments, but I have high hopes for our return in January - including a match against our Senior Boys!
Claires Court has also again entered the Delancey Chess tournament (the largest tournament in the country, if not the world), and I shall be putting a sign-up sheet on the Chess noticeboard for your son to enter his name on if he would like. These matches will be played on Fridays at first break, and there are prizes aplenty to be won, as well as qualification for the area Megafinals in each age group. I look forward to our usual high uptake.
I hope that Father Christmas will be delivering a few chess sets, chess books and other chess paraphernalia this year, and on behalf of Mr Tuck, Mrs Goford, Mr Dennis and of course myself, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. - Mr Hogg
