An email will be sent next week with a link to a ‘Whole School’ survey to please complete. We would like to hear your thoughts on many aspects of Claires Court; from the way you’d describe the school to your peers to your thoughts on elements that could be enhanced or improved. This is a follow up from our recent focus groups to aid us in creating a new website and associated communications. All input is valuable and we appreciate your time in advance.
Happy New Year to all and welcome back to school!
ALL YEAR GROUPS
Nut free School
An important reminder that we are a completely nut free school, so when sending in packed lunches please please PLEASE ensure they contain no nuts. Please check the ingredients of cereal bars, chocolate spreads etc. before sending them in to make sure nuts are not included.
Activities and Study - w/c 17 January
The full activities and study programme commences next week and as such we return to late buses, departing Senior Boys at 5.30pm.
The Lions Club of Maidenhead 37th Swimarathon - Sunday 9 January
The 37th annual Swimarathon, run by the Lions Club of Maidenhead, was held at Braywick Leisure centre on Sunday 9 January. You can still donate to this worthy cause on their Just Giving page here. Well done to Josh NB, Josh BP, Jack H, Max B, Piers B, Toby C, Toby W and Nate K for representing Senior Boys.
Sports Kit for Football training
Reversible rugby shirts should be worn for football training on games afternoons and during activities. Year 7 will wear rugby shirts and blue shorts for fixtures until half term, with Years 8-10 wearing the green and white hooped football shirts and white shorts for matches. If you are struggling to purchase the ‘hooped’ top, please ask your son to speak to his football coach.
Please note if boys are not well enough to participate in games afternoons, they are not permitted to go home without prior permission from Mr Turner, Deputy Head Sport. Instead, they should wrap up warm and attend games with their year group to watch and help with the session. Any boys leaving without permission from the school approved in advance will be marked as unauthorised absence.
Christmas Donations and Fundraising
A BIG thank you from Maidenhead Food Share to all our parents who donated food and goodies - they were gratefully received and went to families who were in need throughout the area before the Christmas break. Senior Boys also raised £237.50 for Save the Children from the Christmas Jumper Day, and St Luke’s Church raised over £1,700 in total from their Christmas Trees for Thames Hospice. Thank you for your support.
