Discovery Day






Taster days are a great chance to experience what Claires Court can offer, see what Senior School is like, make new friends and have plenty of fun!

The next Senior Boys and Senior Girls Discovery Days for pupils in Year 5 will be held on the following dates:

  • Senior Girls Discovery Day: Tuesday 2 June 2020
  • Senior Boys Discovery Day: Thursday 18 June 2020

Senior Boys 

What will the day involve?

  • Learning the skills for sailing
  • Taking to the water at the Claires Court Sailing Lake
  • Lessons covering Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths to build and race a model boat
  • Lunch and tour of the School
Presentation and refreshments with parents at the end of the day.

Senior girls

What will the day involve?

  • Creating and marketing a product
  • Presenting it to our Dragons’ Den panel
  • Designing, constructing and test driving a drone
  • Fun and challenging lessons in Science, Maths, Food Technology and Art
  • Lunch and tour of the School
Presentation and refreshments with parents at the end of the day.

Please note:

  • Places are limited and subject to availability and acceptance. There is no charge for a Discovery Day.
  • The days are available to boys and girls currently in Year 5 at a Prep or Primary School and considering Claires Court for entry in September 2021. Separate events are offered to our own Junior pupils.
  • Boys do not need to have previous sailing experience but should be able to swim. Further details about appropriate clothing and other arrangements will be sent prior to the Discovery Day.
  • School transport will not be available; pupils should be dropped off and collected by parents/guardians.
