  • Your own food for lunch and snacks  - must be NUT FREE
  • Reusable water bottle (water available on site to refill)

  • If children are participating in Sports, please bring appropriate footwear
  • River Xtra - Please wear layers, including Swim wear underneath clothing, and 2 changes of clothes, a jacket (ideally waterproof), closed shoes (eg trainers) no wellies or sliders.  Do not wear Jeans, we would recommend track suit trousers (or similar) waterproof trousers are a good idea during cooler days. SUNSCREEN

Please ensure your child has an adequate supply of sunscreen with them and a sun hat. Please apply a layer of sunscreen prior to arrival. Sunscreen must be in a labelled bottle, further applications will be applied by the children themselves under close adult supervision. There is a box to tick on the booking form to confirm if you allow us to reapply sunscreen.

LABELLING

Please ensure all articles are clearly labelled and discourage your child from bringing valuables or treasured items. Named property will be reunited with owners where possible, unnamed items will be placed in the ‘Box of Unclaimed Property’ and held for four weeks and thereafter donated to charity.

lunch & Snacks

LUNCH and Drinks

Hot lunch is available during the holidays, and can be booked in advance of the holiday, or if preferred packed lunches can be brought in. Please view the lunch menu here.  Allergens information here.

(Due to location, it is not possible to provide hot lunches at the river - for River Xtra participants)

Chilled water is freely available throughout the day, we kindly request that parents provide a labelled drinks bottle for their child. This is to assist in our commitment to reduce single use plastic cups.

*We operate a nut free environment, so please do not include products containing nuts or kiwi in your child's packed lunch.

PHONES & electronics

Please don’t allow your child to bring in phones or other electronics - if they are brought in they will need to be switched off and kept in the child’s bag.

swim sessions

For a small charge, swimming is available for all children at Holiday Club from Year 1, and above, on all days except Friday. The swimming option is subject to there being no maintenance requirements and no exceptionally icy weather conditions. Please provide your child with a towel, swimming costume, crocs/flip-flops, and swim hat and swimming aids as appropriate, if you would like them to join a swim session.

Sickness

We recognise that both staff and children are vulnerable to infections/illness and therefore ask parents/carers to refrain from bringing their children when they are unwell. We operate within the guidance on infection control in schools and other childcare settings provided by the Health Protection Agency.  If your child tests positive for Covid, or has Covid symptoms, please do not send them in to the club.

medication

We require written consent to administer any medication.  If your child requires prescribed medication it is recommended that you obtain a spare inhaler/epipen/Piriton etc so that one can remain on site with us. If your child requires medication and they do not bring it with them you will be refused entry – your child’s safety is our paramount concern.

Accidents

We have a nurse on site every day and any first aid is always administered by a qualified first aider, who will decide the most appropriate course of action. A written accident report will be available to the parent on collection if a child is involved in an accident. Should a child need to go to hospital their parents will be immediately contacted. An escort will be provided if the parents are unable to get to the club.

Security

All children will be signed and timed in and out on a register. Children may be collected at any time during the session, but please let us know in advance either by speaking to us in person at drop-off or by email on the day. Children may only be collected by a nominated person, it is therefore vital that you let the club know if a different person is to collect. You can set a password on the booking system.

Complaints

All concerns should be made to the Holiday Club Manager or directly to Claires Court. If you wish to take matters further, please visit the School's Complaint Procedure for further guidance.

holiday CLUB Policies

Claires Court has detailed policies and procedures in accordance with ISA standards, which are available to all parents. Please ask if you wish to see them or have copies emailed to you.

Please do speak to any of our staff or email us if you have any queries or concerns. We are here to ensure your child gets the most out of their time with us and to help working parents by putting your mind at ease whilst being away from your child.
