Tennis Squads shine at the National Tennis Finals
The culmination of the academic year saw Claires Court U18 tennis squads finish in tremendous style as they competed at the LTA National Tennis Finals against the top sixteen schools in the UK.
Taking place over five days at the Nottingham Tennis Centre, the finals saw the girl’s squad compete for the Aberdare Cup and the boy’s squad for the Glanville Cup. There were some standout performances in what was an extremely high level of competition, which saw the girls finish in a credible 14th place and the boys in a remarkable 6th place in their respective tournaments.
Joanne Cox, Claires Court Senior Girls Head of PE, commented:
“Claires Court is proud to be in partnership with the Delgado and Lee Pro Tennis Academy, based at Bisham Abbey, where many of our tennis players train full time. The tennis coaches have played a huge role in the players’ development, advising them at each step of this incredible journey.”
The U15 girl’s tennis squad continue their competitive run winning their County round before the end of the academic year. The squad now set their sights towards the Regional Finals and we wish them the best of luck in their forthcoming matches in September as the new term begins!
