A Close Shave for Gambia
As students and staff make final preparations for their 10 day adventure to The Gambia, Sixth Form student Tom upped the ante on fundraising efforts this week when he agreed to shave his head for charity.
With staff and students donating to the noble cause, Tom raised an impressive £125. Fellow Sixth Former George donated £30 just for the privilege of wielding the razor. A large crowd of students and staff gathered at break time to witness the shave and were more than happy to donate to the good cause.
The School has been supporting the works of ‘Charity Pearl The Gambia’ to make substantial improvements to day to day life, which include the building of an education centre and a computer lab. Students will spend time working in the education centre running activities which range from cookery classes, to football coaching, to painting and dying workshops.
