The battle of Sixth Form at charity 'swimarathon'
Our remarkable cohort of Sixth Form students swam an impressive combined total of 157 laps for charity as the two year groups battled against each other in the annual Lions Club of Maidenhead ‘swimarathon’.
Hosted at the Magnet Leisure Centre, the two teams participated in the relay race which saw Year 12 complete 69 laps of the pool and a record-breaking effort from Year 13 who swam 88 laps, 10 more than last year!
With donations still coming in, students have raised over £130 for the Lions Club of Maidenhead which will be distributed to local families.
Stephanie Rogers, Head of Sixth Form, praised the students:
“Our volunteer swimmers are typical of the generous and proactive students we work with in Years 12 and 13; they are each remarkable young people who demonstrate qualities which often teenagers are said to be devoid of.”
