Halloween Cupcakes, Graffiti, And Watercolour Paintings
Wow, what a week!
During half term, the children have been incredibly busy, with activities including baking cupcakes and taking part in a cupcake Halloween decorating challenge, and creating their own spooky songs and creepy soundtracks.
Artist in Residence Frances Ackland-Snowe held drawing, watercolour and acrylic workshops, with the children drawing from photos that inspire them, and using their senses to dictate their artwork. On Thursday, girls and boys were thrilled to have a street artist come and visit them. The group learnt practical skills including brush and spray can techniques, masking and stencils and lettering/sign writing - their final artwork was really impressive!
On another day, to appreciate the changing seasons, children made autumn leaf crowns and collages and went on colour treasure hunts. A particular highlight for children in the Mid Group was the play parachute, where they made waves and enjoyed games which built their teamwork skills whilst having lots of fun!
Girls and boys in the Sport Xtra group received rugby and football coaching from Monday to Thursday, developing spatial awareness, teamwork, kicking skills and ball skills.
