Tilly’s off to France for Youth Project
Congratulations to Tilly Butler (Year 12) who has won a place on the International Youth Project, a competition run by the Rotary club of Maidenhead. She underwent an interview with the editor of the Maidenhead Advertiser and members of the Rotary Club to explain her interests and her expectations of the project - and has won a stay with a French family in Paris for a week in July!
The MFL department is VERY proud of her (and not a little jealous) - well done!
Tilly says “We'll be doing cultural activities such as visiting museums and the Palace of Versailles as well as going to a theme park. I'll also be staying with rotary club members who assumedly speak English but if I could practice my French with them that would be very helpful! Each country that has a town twinned with Maidenhead will be sending two people to Paris so I'm also looking forward to meeting the other applicants. The aim of the project in their words is 'to foster a wider understanding of other countries' and to help young people build key life skills."
