An Evergrowing Football Tournament

The annual Junior Boys Football Tournament took place on Friday 4 March. The Year 5, U10 tournament was exceptionally popular with 20 teams from 18 local Independent and state schools taking part.
Teams were split into four groups with each group consisting of five teams who played against each other to determine the overall winners and runners-up. The boys then progressed to the main cup competition, with third and fourth position competing in the plate finals and fifth position playing a Vase semi-final.
Congratulations to the overall winners of the tournament, The Beacon School. Head of PE at Claires Court Junior Boys, Ed Barber, commented;
“This really was a fantastic (dry!) afternoon with a brilliant standard of football played in a superb spirit. The event has been running for over 15 years and is a great chance for other schools to come together and participate in matches using teamwork and collaboration. We look forward to next year!”
