On Tuesday 4 July and Wednesday 5 July, Senior Girls much anticipated production of ‘We Will Rock You’ came to the stage. The girls had spent weeks planning, preparing and rehearsing and their hard work certainly paid off as the result was a fantastic performance incorporating acting, singing, dancing and a live band. One parent described the event, ‘as the best school show ever’, they added ‘it just blew me away, so professional and entertaining’.
A huge well done to Miss Hester Goodsell, Director of Music and Mrs Kate Warren, Head of Drama for organising and putting together such an amazing show. Year 10 Food Club held an incredible pre-theatre dinner which included: cocktails and canapes on arrival, a two course dinner and wine. This was highly commended by parents and staff who thoroughly enjoyed the huge effort put in, the flavour and stunning presentation. Year 7 and 8 girls were also on hand to prepare and serve refreshments at the interval.
Mrs Kate Warren commented:
“I just want to thank each and everyone for supporting this year's Summer Production whether behind the scenes, organising glorious food, taking tickets, designing costumes, making set, lending props, managing pupils, taking photos, cleaning up, playing instruments, running around or watching our pupils act and sing their hearts out.
This production could not have gone as well without the support of our wonderful staff and the true support you have shown the girls, myself and Miss Goodsell.
I love the way our pupils truly step up to these occasions and love the life skills it gives them, from serving food, preparing food, designing posters, writing programme entries, managing the set on and off along with props, quick changes, not missing lighting cues, projection cues, smoke machine operation, getting fellow peers on and off and so so much more!
The girls were a true credit to the School as they supported each other through one massive task and I am so proud of them all. I am sure the girls will be buzzing and I hope I can get round each and everyone to show my appreciation of a job well done.”
