World War Rationed Puddings
It was tasty rations for Year 5 last week when they learnt about food rationing during World War 2.
The girls discussed what foods were available during the war and used them to create a recipe for a typical wartime bread and butter pudding.
Miss Pelizzari, Year 5 Teacher said;
“We had to look at how much bread we would have per family, and then limit ourselves which also included rationing the butter, eggs and sugar. The girls did a fantastic job of making the puddings and were very pleased with the results, which were enjoyed by the whole family. An activity like this is great for the girls to learn how people during the war had to try and make foods that were cheap but filling.”
