With the sun shining the Senior Girls took to the track and field last Friday for their annual Sports Day.

There was plenty of team spirit evident and personal records accomplished.  Take a look at all the fun in the gallery.

Jo Cox, Head of PE said,

"The Senior Sports Day saw St Ignatius snatch victory by a mere one point, again with a wonderful display of physical talent and house spirit.  All girls took part and thoroughly enjoyed themselves making this Sports Day one of the most successful.

The following girls performed exceptionally - H Worthington (3 x gold, 1 x bronze medal), L Arnold (2 x gold, 1 silver medal), R Watkins (2 x gold, 1 x silver, 1 x bronze medal), A Slater (2 x gold, 2 x silver medals), S Price (2 x gold medals) but the Victrix Ludorum Award for being the best girl athlete in their year group goes to: -

Year 7 - L Wallis 3 x gold, 1 x silver medal

Year 8 - C Halpin 3 x gold, 1 x silver medal

Year 9 - C Webster 3 x gold, 1 x silver medal

Year 10 - A Pearce 3 x gold medals.

The last award of the day is the Axtell Award for Perseverance, presented to the School from ex pupil Mia Axtell who was just out of the limelight in Sports Day at school but embraced it each and every year and always taking part in the most difficult of races to help her House.  This Year the Axtell Award goes to Year 7 pupil Maddie Sparks, congratulations."
