First Round of Chess Tournament!

The first round of the English Primary Schools Chess Association (EPSCA) tournament took off on Saturday 5 March in Great Missenden.
Three teams, one Under 11 and two Under 9, left Junior Boys at 8am in order to compete.
U11 - Niam Popat, Kyle Wheeler, Aaron Johnson, Aaron Mussell, Saul Lopez and Alex Pearce.
U9 - Téo Rybak, Kida Zhu, Henry Dargan, Nayan Popat and Joshua Spanswick.
U9 - Samuel Tschiesche, Tom Dargan, Samuel Jeffery, Theo Sullivan, Haider-Ali Baig and Ishraj Samra.
Niam led the U11 team to a hard-earned third place in their section and secured qualification for the next round.
Téo's U9 team won their section, beating off some very strong opposition in the process.
Samuel's U9 team only just missed out on qualification owing to the fact that the two Claires Court teams were drawn against each other in the final round. Nevertheless, there were some excellent performances throughout the team.
All of the boys represented themselves and the school in an exemplary manner and we are very proud of them. The two qualifying teams progress to the next round in Bristol on Saturday 14 May.
