Holiday Activities Travel to Europe
Last week we were fortunate to experience a few sunny days as the children hopped across the pond to say “bonjour” to the sights, sounds and tastes of Europe.
From windmill crafts, castle building and fuzzy felt beach scenes to pompom ice creams, Irish jigs and spaghetti and marshmallow Eiffel towers, we brought the best of Europe to Holiday Activities.
The fun continued as Holiday Activities once again welcomed students from the local area that are participating in the National Citizen Service Scheme. National Citizen Service (NCS) is for young people aged 15 to 17 years-old who embark on exhilarating challenges and enable them to build skills for work and life. The NCS group kept the children amused by setting up a Europe based obstacle course; children jumped, hurdled and sprinted through various European landmarks to gain the title of European Champions!
Kool Xtra group was very popular with all places on offer filled! The Xtra programme included art with a chance to use ink and charcoal and create fuzzy felt pictures. Over in the Spa Salon, children made bath salts and learnt about French manicures, whilst the Digital Media group had an exceptional photography teacher on hand to introduce them to digital editing of photos. The craft sessions involved making ice cream pompoms, paper weaving and enjoying the messy making of money boxes!
Sport Xtra children expended lots of energy as they took part in a variety of ball related sports improving hand-eye, motor and practical playing skills. The boys and girls were able to play competitive games and have lots of fun in the process.
