GCSE Results - Achieving Their Best

It was a day of celebration for the pupils at Claires Court when they picked up their GCSE results.  Of the diverse broad ability cohort, 84.2% achieved 5 A*to C grades, with 30% of the girls grades at A* and A.   James Wilding, Academic Principal was delighted with the results saying, “87% of the cohort gained a C pass or higher in English, and 92% a C pass or higher in Maths, compared to the national statistics for England of 66.3% and 69% respectively.”  Read more....

Paul Bevis, Head of Senior Girls added, “Our focus on a broad education and a refusal to restrict pupil choice is completely vindicated. Pupils did not give up on their sporting, musical or dramatic endeavours nor did they shirk their prefect duties and other responsibilities.

Charlotte Lewis, with 5A*, 2As, 2Bs, 1C said, “I was so relieved and happy when I opened my results, especially as some of them were better than I expected. I have found the teachers to be really GCSE Results 2017supportive of me and helped me get the grades I wanted. I’m staying at Claires Court for Sixth Form to study English, Psychology, Business and Photography. In the future I would love to get into Fashion Retail Marketing.”

Joseph Stephen, 5A*, 3A, 1B, 1C said, “I am really, really pleased with my results.  I am staying here in the Sixth Form to study Maths, Philosophy and Ethics, biology and Economics.  His mother, Mrs Adrienne GCSE Results 2017Stephen added, “It’s not just about his results - which are fantastic, but it’s the man he has turned into, Claires Court provide the full package!”

Katie Garthside, 3A*, 3As, 3Bs, 1C said, “I’m definitely relieved now I’ve got my results. I’ve been at Claires Court since Year 7 and I am so grateful for all the support I have received from the School and my teachers. I will be continuing on to the Claires Court Sixth Form to study Maths and Science.”GCSE Results 2017

Alex Raeburn James, 1A*, 6As, 2Bs commented, “I joined Claires Court in Year 8, the small class sizes and teachers really helped me achieve my best.  I wasn’t expecting an A* in History, so I’m really happy. Long term I want to do something IT related, so I am going to study IT, Maths and Physics in the Sixth Form here.”

Head of Senior Boys, John Rayer said, "I am delighted that the boys hard work and the dedicated efforts from the staff have been rewarded by the pleasing results that have been achieved. The boys have a great platform for their next year."
