It was a valuable experience as many of the children do not have pets at home so were a little scared of something real moving around in front of them. As the time went on though, most children's fears disappeared and there was lots of laughter and intrigue.

The children also painted their own pet or a pet they would like at home and learned what it was like to work in a vets; answering the phone and administering care to the animals.
