Fireworks Family Fun
Saturday saw the Junior Boys grounds filled on a balmy evening with crowds of families meeting to enjoy a fun filled Fireworks evening along with much entertainment. The stalls run both by the pupils and the PTA (with the support of School staff) were all busy whilst the bar, run by Senior Boys’ staff and parents did a roaring trade. PTA members from Junior Boys were kept busy on the barbecue serving up burgers and hot dogs cooked and transported to the marquee by the kitchen staff.
The pumpkin carving competition was judged by President of the PTA, Phyllis Avery MBE. The results from the two categories were:
Nursery - Year 2
1st Sienna Newland
2nd Luke Bridges
3rd Edie Wespieser
Year 3 and above
1st Butland Family
2nd Bluebell St John
3rd Mia Rogers
Cassie Halpin and Josh Morgan provided musical entertainment both before and after the fireworks display whilst Nathan Foy put together the musical accompaniment for the fireworks.
What can be said about the display itself? As ever, Star Fireworks produced a fantastic display which with the musical accompaniment and lighting from Langley Sound and Light, gave a magical and entertaining production.
The venue at Junior Boys provides a brilliant opportunity for a community event where families can bring their children of all ages, knowing that they are safe and secure and there’s no doubt that all the families who attended had a great time. Doubtless plans will be in the making already for next year!
