U13 Netball Team Will Head to Finals

Great news from the Senior Girls U13 netball squad who yesterday won the U13 ISA London West Netball Tournament. They now head to the ISA National Finals in York on 17 March and we look forward to sharing with you how they do! The following report has been written by Jess Holmes, Vice-Captain:
“We started the day taking the bus to Sherfield School, we sang for most of the journey which put us in good spirits and calmed our nerves. We arrived in plenty of time to prepare for our first game against St Catherine’s School. It was a close game but we won 9-8. Our second game was against LVS. We all played really well, the defence moved the ball up the court smoothly and the attack fed it into shooters well. We won 10-0.
The third game was against Hawley Place and we won convincingly 11-1.
Our last group game was against Alton School, this game was very tough and we did well to draw 8-8. At the time, we all felt disappointed, but it motivated us to work harder in the semi-finals. As we won our group, based on goal difference, we went through to the semi-finals as winners to play the runners up from the other group (Sherfield School). In the semi-finals we played really well, our defence and centre court were strong and made lots of interceptions, and our attack worked hard to keep possession of the ball. We won the match 10-1 and this meant we were through to ISA National Finals. We were amazed at what we had achieved!
We didn’t have a lot of time to celebrate, as we were straight into the final against Alton School, who we previously drew to. It was a challenging but exciting game, but we all worked really hard and managed to win 11-8. This meant we are the U13 ISA London West Netball Champions! Well done to all the girls who played and thank you to our coaches Miss Guttridge and Mrs Bennett.”
