Laying Their Wreath for Remembrance
This week Year 2 boys and girls went on the minibus to Stubbings Church for Remembrance Day. They visited the memorial to remember those who died during World War 1 and 2 to enhance their learning about Remembrance as well as their studies on church features.
The Lower Juniors worked together to create a beautiful poppy wreath to lay down by the memorial. Here’s their thoughts on the outing:
“We saw the War Memorial which was built in 1920 to remember those who died in World War 1 and 2. We went into the Church and looked around. We saw the stained glass windows, the altar and the pews where people sit.”
“We saw the War Memorial with names of the people who died during World Wars 1 and 2.”
“We went to Stubbings Church because we have been talking about Remembrance Day.”
