Charity Netball Match
In aid of Children in Need, Claires Court held a staff fancy dress netball match to raise money, which was a competitive, fast-paced and humorous battle.
Mrs Margaret Heywood, Head of Senior Girls commented:
“Netball is a massively popular sport within the school. Raising money does not get much harder than this and in a highly competitive netball match of staff versus staff was a fiercely-fought affair. It was a great way for staff to get active, enjoy themselves, raise funds for Children in Need and engage in a light-hearted manner to show the pupils it is alright to laugh, have fun and make mistakes.”
Spectators observed that not all rules of the game were adhered to in this match and it was certainly well supported vocally by pupils and fellow staff members all shouting words of encouragement. Over £100 pounds was raised for Children in Need in this fast and skilful game although at times the fancy dress costumes restricted staff movement around the court.
