Chef Judges Year 10 Competition
As part of the Future Chef competition, we invited Giancarlo Caldesi, chef patron of Bray restaurant, Caldesi in Campagna to judge our round of the heats. The competition takes place nationally and aims to inspire pupils to learn about food, cookery, budgeting and presentation as well as giving them invaluable experience in a professional kitchen.
Six of our Year 10 pupils took part in the in-house competition, challenged with the task to create a healthy two course meal. The winner, as judged by our guest chef and the Administrative Principal, Hugh Wilding go on to the local competition held in Aylesbury on 7 December, congratulations to:
1st Place - Maddy Burwash
2nd Place - Maddie Todd and Millie Akerman
Mr Giancarlo Caldesi said, “I was very impressed by the girls determination, organisation and ability to hold themselves under pressure. They presented the final dishes very well, and I think to improve further they should understand the different flavours across the world. This competition is great because it builds confidence and gets them to work under pressure but in a friendly and encouraging environment.”
Take a look at all the wonderful dishes created in our gallery.
