Powerful Performers Platform
On a cold Thursday evening, our music and drama pupils assembled to their performers platform to showcase their talents. Girls from Year 7-11 were able to take part and wowed their audience.
Mr Dan Gravett, Head of Music said;
“It was a pleasure to witness some of the amazing talents we have amongst the Senior Girls last night. The intention of the Performers Platform was to showcase some of the examination repertoire that the girls have spent countless hours preparing. We saw examples of this in abundance and it was a pleasure to see so many pupils enjoying themselves and gaining valuable performance experience. I am also grateful for all the drama contributions as this provided the audience with an insight into the dramatic world of LAMDA. Well done to everyone that took part and I wish you all a very merry Christmas, when it arrives!”
Mrs Kate Warren, Drama Teacher said:
“The girls have worked so hard on producing effective individual performance pieces as part of their Grade 5 LAMDA Acting qualification, taking on extremely mature roles.
On Thursday night the girls had their first opportunity of performing these roles to a live audience, it was a big task developing the key dramatic skills; movement, body language, facial expressions, use of voice, key dramatic pauses, emphasis on key moments and most of all outstanding stage presence.
Parents were most shocked to see their daughters in such a demanding role and holding the audience's attentions so well as they performed alone on stage using of the key technical elements from props, set and lighting.”
